What are essential oils?

Essential oils are highly concentrated aromatic extracts that are distilled or cold pressed from a variety of plant material including leaves, roots, flowers, seeds, resins, woods and fruits.

What are some ways to use essential oils?

In general, essential oils can be enjoyed for their distinctive fragrance and aromatic properties when applied to the skin or used with a diffuser. Some essential oils may be added to foods or beverages to enhance flavour and aroma. Check Isagenix.com for each Essence Essential oil’s recommended use.

Which Essence Essential Oils are safe to ingest?

Certain essential oils can be added to foods and beverages to invigorate flavour and aroma. Content™, TumBliss™, DefenseShield™, Lavender, Lemon, Frankincense, and Peppermint are safe to ingest for adults over the age of 18.

Add up to one drop of Isagenix Essence Essential Oil to at least 240 mL of liquid. Because essential oils are potent even a small amount can provide great flavour.

Do not consume Fresh™ Blend, Tea Tree or Eucalyptus essential oils.

Are plastic containers safe for Essence by Isagenix Essential Oil?

Isagenix recommends enjoying your Essence by Isagenix Essential Oil out of glass or stainless-steel containers. Some plastics are known to be incompatible with essential oils therefore plastic containers, cups and water bottles should not be used for the storage or consumption of Essence.

When one drop of Essence by Isagenix Essential Oil is blended into your IsaLean™ Shake, it mixes with all the other oils and ingredients in the shake to decrease its concentration. Drinking an Isagenix shake out of your plastic shaker cup or blender bottle should not be a cause for concern. When adding one drop of Essence by Isagenix Essential Oil to water, it should always be mixed in a glass or stainless-steel bottle or container.

What is an application oil and why should I use it?

Fractioned coconut oil is the only ingredient in Essence Coconut Application Oil. Fractionated coconut oil is the most popular oil used for applying essential oils to the skin. It is moisturising, odour free and non-greasy.

Application oils are necessary because they help ensure that the essential oil of choice is comfortable on the skin. Pure essential oils are concentrated and can sometimes be irritating for sensitive skin types when applied without dilution. Isagenix application oil does not reduce the effects of the essential oil but minimises skin irritation.

What if I experience skin discomfort or irritation?

When applying an oil topically for the first time it’s a good idea to place one drop in an inconspicuous area to see how your skin reacts. To minimise skin sensitivity, mix with a few drops of Isagenix Coconut Application Oil. If skin discomfort or irritation occurs, discontinue use on the affected area. If the reaction persists it is best to consult with a doctor.

Where should Essence essential oils be applied topically?

Diluted essential oils can be applied to most areas of the skin. However, refrain from applying oils to sensitive areas such as near the eyes and ears.

Can essential oils be used during pregnancy or while nursing?

Isagenix does not recommend the use of Essence Essential Oils during pregnancy or while nursing. As with any Isagenix Product or System, it is always best to consult with your doctor prior to beginning the use of any Essential Oil.

Can children use Essence Essential oils?

Essence Essential Oils can be enjoyed by the entire family through the use of a diffuser in large, well-ventilated spaces. Before applying any essential oil topically, it is best to consult with your child’s paediatrician. Ingestion is not recommended for children.

What about the use of Essence Essential Oils if I have a medical condition or take prescription medication?

It is always recommended that you consult with your doctor if you have a pre-existing medical condition or take a prescription medication prior to using any Isagenix product, including Essence Essential Oils. Your health care provider can help you determine if there are concerns that may be important for you when using essential oils.

Are Essence Essential Oils safe to diffuse around pets?

Some pets may be especially sensitive to the aroma of essential oils. Diffusing Essence Essential Oils is not recommended in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas for either people or pets. If you have pets and would like to use Essence Essential Oils at home, it is best to first consult with your veterinarian to find out what concerns may be important for your pet.

Are there any synthetic ingredients or additives in Essence Essential Oils?

With Essence by Isagenix Essential Oil collection, you can be sure the oils are unadulterated, 100 percent pure and third-party tested. Essential oils can be adulterated with synthetic compounds and additives, so it’s important to choose oils that come with no-compromise quality.
