pv22316-resizedJon Rahm was introduced to the Isagenix® products while playing golf under Coach Tim Mickelson at Arizona State University (ASU) in the United States. Isagenix Owner and Senior Vice President of Global Field Development, Erik Coover attended ASU as well and introduced Isagenix to the golf team in his time as team captain. Many of the school’s top golfers used the products while playing at ASU, including Rahm, who is considered to be one of the most gifted golfers of his generation.

“Jon ate more Isagenix bars than most of the team combined,” remembers Mickelson. Mickelson left ASU to help steer Rahm’s career when the young golfer became a professional in 2016. Both Mickelson and Rahm have been very enthusiastic about the association with Isagenix, not only because they love the products but also because of the Coover family’s passionate support of ASU and the golf team.

“I’m very happy to represent Isagenix,” says Rahm. “Some of the most important years of my life were spent just down the road from where Isagenix is based, where I still live, and I truly believe in the products.”

Successful University Career Leads to Professionalism

Rahm left his native Barrika, Spain to enroll at ASU in 2012 and four years later earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications in addition to winning 11 university-level events. In both of his last two years at ASU, Rahm was named the Ben Hogan Award winner, an award given annually to the best university golfer in the US by the Golf Coaches Association of America and Friends of Golf. Rahm is the only college player to receive the award two years in a row.

Before becoming a professional, Rahm was No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf rankings, finished fifth overall at the 2015 Phoenix Waste Management Open and was the low amateur at the 2016 US Open. In his first event as a professional, Rahm held or shared the lead for the first two rounds and eventually finished third. He tied for second in the Canadian Open and secured enough points in his first season as a professional to secure a PGA tour card after only seven events, a tremendous feat.

Looking Forward to Incredible Sponsorship

This past weekend, Rahm added to his list of accolades in his incredible performance as the youngest winner of the 2017 PGA Tour Farmers Insurance Open on Sunday, 29 January.  After his resounding three-stroke win, Rahm, who is just 22 years old, moved up from 142nd to 46th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

“We are excited to have such an outstanding young man and athlete as our newest nutrition and performance partner,” says Jim Coover, Isagenix Owner & CEO. “We couldn’t be more proud of Jon’s accomplishment on his first career PGA Tour win and we are excited to support what we know will be a fabulous career.”

The Coover family’s link to ASU provided an introduction to Rahm that would likely not have occurred otherwise. Isagenix was offered a once-in-a-lifetime chance to align

with a marquee star at the beginning of his career which allows the opportunity for Isagenix to explore partnering and sponsoring world-class athletes that share our core values.img958210-resized

“Quality sponsorships such as these will allow us to increase our brand awareness to new customers and markets on a national and global level as we pursue our vision of impacting world health,” says Erik Coover.
