Taking Action to be the Healthy Example

Raised in a household with overweight parents, Heath developed unhealthy habits early in life. Carrying those habits into his adult life, he believed being overweight was a result of his genetics and had a tough time sticking to healthy lifestyle changes.

Encouraged to lose weight for the sake of his health, Heath struggled with the idea of shedding the excess weight. “Both my parents told me growing up that I would be overweight my whole life,” he shares. “I was prescribed weight-loss pills by my doctor and other alternate options to shift the weight but I never went through with them. I figured there had to be a better way.”

A husband and father, Heath didn’t want to pass on his bad habits to his 11-year-old son and made a vow to prioritise his health in order to be a positive role model. “I was almost 40 when my son was born and it suddenly dawned on me that if I didn’t make some serious changes, I probably wouldn’t be around for the next 11 years,” he admits. “I was introduced to Isagenix® by 4 Star Golden Circle, 1 Star Crystal Executive, Bill Ryan, after seeing a status he’d posted on Facebook about losing 25 kgs with the Isagenix System. It motivated me to take action.”

With his wife, Jedda, along for the ride, Heath embarked on his new lifestyle with a 30-Day Weight Loss System. The couple motivated each other to keep up their new, healthy habits and by the end of their first 30 days, their entire outlook on health, and life, had changed. “Starting the system with Jedda really helped, we kept each other motivated and we still do to this day,” he says. “We had initially been reluctant to start the program knowing that it was connected to network marketing but those doubts disappeared as soon as our clothes began to loosen.”

Inspired by the changes he was seeing and feeling and eager to set a healthy example for his son, Heath fulfilled a lifelong dream of walking the notorious Kokoda Trail. “I had always avoided gyms but once I made the decision to fulfill my dream of walking the Kokoda Trail, I quickly started work with a personal trainer,” he shares. “I’m in the gym most days and I love CrossFit. I’m excited to also start up Rugby League this month for the new season!”

“Hearing the stories of my fellow 100 Pound Club members blows me away,” says Heath. “This community is so important to me and I love that health and fitness is now an integral part of my family’s life. I now know that genetics should never hinder us – if you are committed to a healthy lifestyle, the results will show.

Weight-loss results depicted here should not be construed as typical or average. In a study performed in 2012 by University at Chicago researchers, subjects lost an average of 4.1 kg with an average of 0.9 kg of the loss from visceral fat after 30 days on an Isagenix System.
