It wasn’t until she heard and saw an incredible body transformation at a Sip and Sample that a fire was lit for Laura Strickland-Clark. Leaving the event, she was eager to begin her health and wellness transformation. “When I saw some of the 100 Pound Club transformations I was immediately emotionally attached to the stories because they were so similar to mine and resonated so deeply,” says Laura.
Sick of failed dieting, Laura was motivated by others who had lost 45 kgs or more and she strived for long term, healthy weight loss. “I sat, waiting and wanting for over 10 years. 10 years I battled with my weight and mental health. I tried many things, lots of attempts but nothing was permanent so nothing changed.”
“When nutritional cleansing came along I said yes to the opportunity quite quickly and whilst there’s not a day of my life I’d change; I often wonder how those years could have been had I known about it longer.” While Laura went to the gym in the past, she claims she did so without raising a sweat and refuelled with junk food that was ruining her hard work. Now she trains harder, enjoys hiking outdoors and cooks healthy meals that “baffle the tastebuds,” as she puts it. “I was ready to give Isagenix® a go and with the help of my enrolling sponsors, Corinne and Steve Butler, I started my journey with a Weight Loss Premium Pack and lost 11 kgs in the first month.”
“At the end of May 2017, I truly committed to the System and it took just 10 months for me to hit the 45.5 kg milestone and become part of the 100 Pound Club!” she exclaims. “Initially I was like most people who said, ‘they couldn’t do shakes’ which was a theory that had no logic considering I love smoothies.”
“I am maintaining my weight by sticking to the program. It’s designed for success and all anyone has to do is follow it,” Laura says. “One thing that needed changing the most was my mindset, so now I read many books to help reprogram my mind to think positively.”
Luckily Laura is surrounded by thousands of positive and motivational supporters who help her stay focused on her goals. “I’ve been getting the most incredible reactions from everyone but mostly from the IsaBody Challenge® ANZ Facebook group,” she says. “Everything I post on social media is met with such great support, it’s one of my biggest networks and I’m so grateful for everyone inside that group and beyond who have cheered me on.”
“Apart from the Isagenix community, I motivate myself by hunting through op shops for cute clothes that are smaller than I am now! It’s a super cheap and fabulous way to self-motivate. I also focus on events in the future that I want to feel amazing for, like weddings and my upcoming trip to the United Kingdom,” says the 100 Pound Club inductee. “And knowing that by publicising my journey I can help others is a great feeling. My Instagram is my weight loss diary and I love that I can help others with that.”
While she’s already achieved so much with Isagenix, Laura is very much looking forward to what the future holds. “I have dreams and goals and I’m working on them every single day. I have so much love for all that I am as a person now, which still blows my mind when I think about where I’ve come from,” she says. “I’m currently taking the attention off my weight by working more on feeling strong and happy in my skin. I’m doing that by focussing my training towards completing a Spartan Race in December!”
Weight-loss results depicted here should not be construed as typical or average. In a study performed in 2012 by University at Chicago researchers, subjects lost an average of 4.1 kg with an average of 0.9 kg of the loss from visceral fat after 30 days on an Isagenix System. The subjects also had a greater level of adherence and had more consistent weight loss from week to week compared to subjects on a traditional diet. Always consult your GP before making any dietary changes or starting any nutrition, weight-loss or exercise program.
