Donna Birt is a woman on a mission. Shortly after giving birth to her daughter, Lexie, Donna’s marriage ended and she found herself a single mother with a huge amount of responsibility. “I had gained 21 kgs during my pregnancy and felt disheartened by what I saw in the mirror,” shares Donna. “With my lack of confidence came the re-emergence of bad habits. I had fallen into a rut.”
It wasn’t long before Donna realised how far she’d fallen. “I realised I couldn’t let myself be in a place of negativity,” she says. “It wasn’t just my life I was responsible for now. I decided I wanted to be the best possible role model for my daughter in all aspects of life.”
Having experienced success in her first IsaBody Challenge® three years prior, Donna knew embarking on a second Challenge was the first step to her new life. “The IsaBody Challenge had helped me transform my body and regain my confidence before. I was excited to start again, now as a mother with different goals and aspirations.”
With her newborn daughter in tow, Donna embarked on her Challenge with determination. “I didn’t let having a baby stop me,” she says. “I exercised and meditated daily. I got creative, even incorporating Lexie into some of my workouts with exercises like ‘baby-weighted squats’.”
As a way to hold herself accountable, Donna uploaded her ‘before’ photo to Facebook. “The IsaBody Challenge is like a built-in accountability system,” she explains. “There’s thousands of other people going through the same thing as you, sharing their struggles and tips. I also wanted to have an online presence so I could help inspire other mums and dads in a similar position.”
Donna’s transformation was more than just physical, training her mind with healthy habits and creating a whole new lifestyle for herself and her daughter. “I began to form new, daily habits that have stuck with me,” she says excitedly. “I feel more confident, calmer and happier and I released 10.7 kgs during the Challenge too!”
“I feel I have gone from zero to hero since completing the IsaBody Challenge. I am proud of my body, my life and the positive example I am setting for my daughter. The IsaBody Challenge has taught me that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.”
