It’s true that Emma Van Derwaal, one of our newest START 1000 members, radiates positivity and passion. It’s also true that Emma didn’t always embrace life this way. “Before Isagenix®, I was physically, emotionally and financially drained and searching for something more in life,” recalls Emma. “Something needed to change. I needed to change.”
After the breakdown of her marriage, Emma wasn’t sure of her next step as she had often relied on her husband for both emotional and financial support. “I felt as though I was just treading water trying to be strong for my two little girls,” says Emma. “I was afraid of what the future held.”
It soon became evident to those close to Emma that she was struggling to make ends meet. “I was introduced to Isagenix by my good friends but I was sceptical,” shares Emma. Being a support system for her two girls, Emma struggled to part with the money to purchase her first Pak. “I felt so selfish spending the money on myself but I reminded myself over and over again that I had the 30-Day Guarantee to fall back on if things didn’t work out.”
During the first 30 days of using the Isagenix products, Emma began to experience a surge in energy. “I began to feel positive again and knew I needed to share these products with others who also needed a change in their life,” says Emma.
With Emma’s continued success using the Isagenix system, she began to organically share the products with those around her. “I fell in love with Isagenix but didn’t believe I had the skills to be a professional network marketer,” says Emma. “I began to educate myself with the tools provided by Isagenix and attended corporate events. My mindset changed from simply selling products to sharing a gift and that’s when everything changed for me.”
Emma’s vision began to grow and she was determined to not only change her life but to also change the lives of others. “I believe everyone deserves to live a life of freedom and choice,” says Emma. “When you have a healthy body and mind it allows you to not only give love but to also receive love. You’re then in a place to help others and change the world.”
Assisting others in discovering their ‘why’ is now Emma’s full-time occupation. “I encourage my team to dig deep, strip back and be their authentic self,” shares Emma. “I ask the right questions and listen from the heart. People don’t care what you know until they know how much you care. You have to have a passion for this, truly believe in the products and have the desire to change lives.”
Encouraging her team to attend events is a large part of Emma’s teaching method. “Events are the heartbeat of this company so I make sure all my team get to as many as possible,” says Emma. “Collaboration is key. We are all better together and this is where our amazing culture stems from.”
