With good jobs and solid investments, Carmen and Tom thought they had done everything to set themselves up for success. As time went on however, they found their lifestyle wasn’t as ideal as they first thought. Juggling jobs and raising a family, Carmen and Tom’s definition of ‘normal’ was being busy and tired. With little time to prepare meals, they were making unhealthy food choices and this was negatively impacting their lives.
“I thought that it was normal to be exhausted and cranky by the end of the day when my husband got home,” shares Carmen, who was looking after their two children and working from home. “I just thought that’s what life was for us.”
Carmen and Tom were expecting their second child when fellow Isagenix Millionaires Jen and Jono spoke to them about Isagenix. Not wanting to take a ‘risk’ with their growing family, Carmen and Tom decided the time wasn’t right. Three months after their baby was born however, their ‘normal’ was still the same. It was then that they decided to re-define their lives, making the call to Jen and Jono and beginning their journey with Isagenix.
A new kind of ‘normal’
“We both had great product experiences,” says Tom, who unexpectedly released 8 kilograms during his first Program. “After a couple of weeks I just felt amazing and had boundless energy, even with the sleepless nights due to the little fella!”
Achieving her goal to release 5 kilograms, Carmen was also impressed with the products but it was the realisation of the potential for a new ‘normal’ that was the real wake-up call. Immediately this built her belief in the Isagenix opportunity. “I didn’t realise it was possible to sleep well through the night and not always need to pick yourself up with coffee at 3 o’clock in the afternoon,” she says.
Learning leads to change
With their product success and new idea of ‘normal’ in sight, Carmen and Tom, now 9 Star Platinum, 5 Star Executive, saw the life-changing potential of Isagenix. But as a self-confessed introvert, Carmen thought she wasn’t built for Network Marketing. “I’m the person that never thought Network Marketing was an option. I would read finance books and I would flick though that chapter thinking, that’s not me, introverts don’t do that stuff!” she says.
“We really struggled in the beginning because we weren’t speaking to people or building ongoing relationships and that just doesn’t work,” Carmen says. “We quickly learned and started to understand that we had to talk to people about Isagenix. I started to ask questions about what we had to do to be successful at this. We plugged into events, we listened to podcasts and worked on personal development. That made all the difference.” Carmen overcame the mindset that introverts can’t be Network Marketers and regularly presents at Isagenix events.
“I realised that Networking Marketing is not about selling to people, it’s about helping people,” shares Carmen.
“In fact, it wasn’t them doing us a favour when they said yes – it was us doing them the favour by sharing the products in the first place! It’s about finding the people who are looking for something more and connecting them with what it is they are wanting out of life.”
Setting a new standard
Now Isagenix Millionaires, Carmen and Tom have set themselves a new life standard. “We get to spend our days with the people we love the most in the world, no matter where in the world they are – that’s what freedom feels like to us!” Carmen says.
“Our success is much more than that though, it’s an indication of how many lives we’ve been able to help change and it’s just the beginning! We are only getting started!”
